Introducing Peyton Reese Strutt.
Born May 15, 2012 at 9:58 am. 7 lbs 9 oz, 20.5
inches.
Peyton arrived 10 days early because I was induced after discovering I
had pre-eclampsia.
I knew I’d be
made NPO once I arrived at the hospital, so I downed a box of Milk Duds on the
way there. They were delish. But when the triage nurse asked me when
I last ate, I knew I’d be busted so I told her lunchtime.
They started the epidural a few hours after the Pitocin. Jon thought the fentanyl was affecting
my mind and got even more nervous when I started internet shopping for baby
clothes on my phone at four in the morning.
During the delivery Jon sang Salt n Pepa’s, “Push it, push it real
good”. It was alright at first but
got kind of annoying once I sensed a bit of sarcasm and noticed some major eyebrow
movement.
Peyton was born late morning.
She was perfect and sweet and already demonstrated some pretty awesome
facial expressions just like dad.
Jon being the helpful guy that he is filled out the birth certificate form. The nurse came to pick it up and asked if I had looked it over. I hadn’t but took a quick glance. Good thing I did because Jon spelled my name wrong TWICE on the form! Jacyln instead of Jaclyn. Could happen to anyone.
