Babar and Astronauts

Will she ever stop crying?

Peyton is Miss Fussy between 8-10 pm on most nights.  We usually end up outside rocking her in our chair while Kinnick looks on annoyed.  Additional means of calming her down have included singing to her, walking her up and down the block, and both of the above.

Songs usually start with something like "I like to eat eat eat apples and bananas" and "Wheels on the bus", then when she still doesn't calm down we look for more divine intervention and start singing church hymns.  That actually usually does the trick... Hallelujah!

We've also made an attempt to start reading to her because it easier than holding a one sided conversation.  So we made a family outing to Barnes and Noble to each pick out a children's book.  I selected a Babar book where as Jon selected "Outer Space", a factual book with about a sixth grade reading level.  Peyton has had a blast (no pun intended) learning about wormholes and the reclassification of Pluto.
