Baby it's cold outside!

Grrrrr Brrrrr
Peyton and Daddy like to take Kinnick for walks.  Now that it's autumn they make sure to bundle up.

Bookworm

Working hard on my book
Peyton loves her books!  We started reading to her when she was about 6 weeks old, mainly because reading was more fun than baby talk.  I didn't really understand why anyone would buy those super short board books with two words to a page so instead I was ordering books like "Madeline" and "A Sick Day for Amos McGee"...

That was until Peyton started lunging at and sucking on to the books for dear life.  I can hardly flip a page anymore!  Madeline will have to go back on the shelf for now. : )

So yummy!

Rice krispies

Mmm...delicioso!
Peyton started to eat like a big girl today!  We started with rice cereal mixed with formula.  Peytie seemed to enjoy it much more than Daddy, who made a horrible exaggerated gagging scene.  This cereal thing makes quite the mess.  We have to take special care to clean her cute little neck rolls. : )

Next week we're going to start introducing veggies.  I'm so excited!  Sweet potatoes, sweet peas, carrots, yes!  I'm tempted to just jump to the mango puree but who'd eat carrots after that!

Happy October!

Boo!
Today Peyton went on a playdate with her friend Gavin to get pumpkins.  She helped pick out a mommy pumpkin, daddy pumpkin, and baby pumpkin.  Her baby pumpkin was the cutest!

My first cold...Round 2

Stuffy baby
Poor little Peyton is experiencing the second round of her first cold.  The joys of daycare!  You'd think with a pediatrician and pharmacist for parents that she would be set.  Unfortunately we're finding out first hand that nothing we try really works.  Here have been our bright ideas so far:
  1. Elevate head of bed with our thickest textbooks.  This worked until Daddy laid Peyton on a decline. In his defense, he rotates her so her head doesn't get misshapen. : )
  2. Cool mist humidifier
  3. Saline drops with bulb suction.  She's not a fan!
  4. Vicks Babyrub
  5. Lullaby frog that projects constellations on ceiling. I think this one is more for Jon.
  6. Hugs from Mommy and Daddy!
